Children in Need
Children in Need fund some of our youth groups in Maidstone, namely Rockets, Comets and Galaxy since 2017.
As part of the 2018 appeal, the BBC came out to see us to find out the difference that we make to our children and families through their funding. You can view the video on our Facebook page.
The Cobtree Charity Trust Limited
Space 2 Be Me would like to thank The Cobtree Charity Trust Limited for their generous financial contribution in 2023 to our Tonbridge and Maidstone Universe Clubs for young adults with additional needs. This grant has enabled our charity to provide vital support to young adults with disabilities and reduce their isolation.
The Philip and Connie Phillips Foundation
The Philip and Connie Phillips Foundation makes grants to support charities in Kent who demonstrate their impact on the health and wellbeing of their local community. Space 2 Be Me is very grateful to the Foundation for their grant which has enabled us to support the wellbeing of parents and carers of children with disabilities across West Kent through our Family Support Work.
The Edward Gostling Foundation
Over the past financial year, The Edward Gostling Foundation has supported Space 2 Be Me with funding to cover some of our charity’s core running costs – for which we are truly grateful! Thank you for your support.

The Garfield Weston Foundation
Space 2 Be Me would like to thank The Garfield Weston Foundation for their substantial contribution to our charity over the past financial year.
Their Foundation has helped us fund vital work as a charity supporting children with disabilities and their parents/carers across West Kent.
The Gatwick Foundation Fund
The Gatwick Foundation Fund, administered by Kent Community Foundation, has provided invaluable funding which have been allocated to some our clubs for children with disabilities in Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells.
Kent Sport
Kent Sport have supported our Dance Stars group during the pandemic through an Everyday Active Grant and further funding has been made available through its Tackling Inequalities Fund supported by Sports England and the National Lottery.
Maidstone Leisure Trust
Maidstone Leisure Trust have contributed over the last financial year (2023/24) to our Space 2 Be Me Dance Stars classes in Maidstone, which so many children and young adults with disabilities have benefitted from.
Awards for All
Awards for All have have provided us with invaluable funding over the past financial year to support our membership and marketing activities, helping us raise awareness of the services and activities on offer for children and young adults with disabilities and their parents/carers, whilst meeting the needs of our growing membership.
Tonbridge & Malling Borough Council
Tonbridge & Malling Borough Council have helped us with ongoing funding in 2023/24 for our Asteroids Club, for children aged 11-14 with additional needs – providing invaluable opportunities for the children to socialise and improve their life skills.
People’s Postcode Lottery
Space 2 Be Me received funding from the People’s Postcode Lottery which has been allocated towards core costs for running our charity.
Kent County Council
Kent County Council has generously supported many projects across our charity this financial year (2023/24). They provided an Early Help preventative grant to support the running of our SAMs Stay and Play Saturdays Clubs for 0-6-year-olds in Tonbridge and Maidstone; they supported our Short Breaks Events for families who have children with additional needs; and through their Combined Members Grant, we received funding towards our family support work in Maidstone.
