Children in Need

Children in Need fund some of our youth groups in Maidstone, namely Rockets, Comets and Galaxy since 2017.

As part of the 2018 appeal, the BBC came out to see us to find out the difference that we make to our children and families through their funding. You can view the video on our Facebook page.

Kent Sport

Kent Sport have supported our Dance Stars group during the pandemic through an Everyday Active Grant and further funding has been made available through its Tackling Inequalities Fund supported by Sports England and the National Lottery.

National lottery

Space 2 Be Me is one of three local parent-driven charities in the Family Support Partnership set up in 2020. The partnership has been awarded a 3-year funding from the National Lottery to set up a family support service for parents with children with a disability or SEN in nine districts of Kent.

Awards for All

Awards for All have made in recent years made it possible for us to change our name, brand and website as well as developing our membership and marketing capacity.

Masonic Charitable Foundation

Space 2 Be Me was awarded 3 years core funding from the Masonic Charitable Foundation in 2019.

People’s Postcode Lottery

Space 2 Be Me received funding in 2019 for our employability work with young adults with additional needs, building contacts and networks and delivering a mini conference and workshops for parents carers and local organisations involved in helping the important transition from children to adults for those with additional needs.

Henry Smith

Henry Smith supported our family support worker in Maidstone for 2 years to 2020

Cole Trust

Cole Trust have supported us several times – this year are supporting our SAMs stay and play sessions in Maidstone and Tonbridge.

Gatwick Foundation Fund

Gatwick Foundation Fund have helped us reach out and support families in West Kent and run autism parent workshops

Golding Vision

Golding Vision have supported us for the past three years. This year their support will go towards SAMS stay and play sessions in Maidstone.

Kent County Council

As part of the Totius partnership we receive funding in partnership with three other Kent based charities from KCC Disabled Children’s Services Team, who fund us with a strategic grant each year to help run our core activities.

Space 2 Be Me has secured two Early Help Preventative grants during 2020-21, one to run a youth group in Tonbridge & Malling and one to run specialist parent courses in Maidstone.

In addition, Space 2 Be Me has been supported by Combined Members Grants in both Maidstone and on Tonbridge in the year supporting our stay and play or youth groups.
